Reading the site

The site has no cookies, analytics, advertising or accounts.

The right now figures are worked out in your browser from your device's date. Nothing about them leaves your device.

What the host receives

The pages are served by Cloudflare, Inc., which acts for the operator as a service provider. To send each page and to fend off attacks and abuse, Cloudflare handles the technical details of every request: the address asked for, your IP address and basic facts about your browser. It may keep security logs for a short time.

The contact form and processing outside South Africa

The contact form opens your own mail programme. Sending the email is your choice.

The operator receives mail through Google's Gmail service. Contact emails are processed outside South Africa because the operator lives outside South Africa and Gmail stores mail on Google's servers.

POPIA allows personal information to leave South Africa only on the grounds listed in section 72. The ground relied on here is your consent under section 72(1)(b): the contact page says before you write that your email goes to a mailbox outside South Africa, and you decide whether to send it.

Emails are kept only as long as needed to answer and are deleted on request.

You may ask what personal information the operator holds about you. You may ask for correction or deletion and object to processing.
